Becoming a Member

Membership of the library service is strictly for full-time teaching staff only. Contract, part-time and adjunct staff are not eligible for membership.

Rules and Regulations

For Teachers without CS/PS Card

  1. The membership form must be endorsed by the School Principal or Vice-Principal. Please affix the school’s official stamp.
  2. Members are allowed to borrow a maximum of 10 items for 21 days.
  3. The member’s School Staff Card must be produced when borrowing library items. Members must check that all items in their possession have been issued to them before leaving the library.
  4. Members are responsible for all library items borrowed.
  5. Reference materials are not for loan and cannot be taken out of the library.
  6. Items must be returned by the due date; or borrowing privileges will be suspended.
  7. Lost or damaged items must be reported to READ@Academy.
  8. Any change in particulars should be reported to READ@Academy for updating of records.
  9. The Library collection is covered by Copyright Laws. Please abide by the copying guidelines.
  10. Membership is valid for 1 year from date of registration.

For Retired Teachers

  1. Processing of membership takes 2 weeks. A library membership card will be issued.
  2. The library membership card must be produced when borrowing library items. Members must check that all the items in their possession have been issued to them before leaving the library.
  3. Members are allowed to borrow a maximum of 10 items for 21 days.
  4. Print journals, Reference and Gold Star collection can only be accessed on-site and cannot be taken out of the library.
  5. Due to licensing agreement regulations, member may only access selected e-resources within the library premises.
  6. Items must be returned by the due date; or borrowing privileges will be suspended.
  7. Borrowed items must be returned via the book drop or at the loan counter.
  8. Lost or damaged items must be reported to READ@Academy.
  9. Any change in particulars should be reported to READ@Academy for updating of records.
  10. Loss of library card must be reported immediately to prevent unauthorised use.
  11. The Library collection is covered by Copyright Laws. Please abide by the copyright guidelines.
